http://corporateandinvestment.standardbank.com/global/ www.lemetropolecafe.com Bill,
Goldman Sachs still has no contracts on the TOCOM in gold or silver.
I would like to point out that Standard Bank of Japan has accumulated a net short position in gold of 12,812 contracts which is 41% of the entire net short position held on the TOCOM by all participants and their short position is 18% of the total Open Interest! It would seem that the CFTC is not the only regulatory body looking the other way when it comes to manipulation. Controlling this much of a market IS manipulation. It doesn’t matter if you have the gold to back it or not. Just because you own a lot of gold does not entitle you to manipulate a market so the backing of the position is irrelevant it is only concentration that matters. Unlike on the COMEX we know the names of the players. It is clear who is manipulating the TOCOM gold price and it is Standard Bank of Japan. Is it possible that STDJ is acting on behalf of a lot of smaller players? Considering that STDJ has very little long position and keeps growing its short position it seems unlikely that investors would keep piling in on the short side in a bull market! The Standard Bank is headquartered in South Africa so even if there are links to gold mining it is strange that the short sales have increased so much when gold mine output in SA is the lowest since 1922! What is even more strange is that STDJ has been increasing its short position while all other traditional gold commercial traders on TOCOM have been reducing or going net long!…
