Good morning Gentlemen,
As you are probably already aware, the Tocom shorts have increased their net short gold positions again as of Feb. 6. Additionally, a couple of other dealers have joined the party.

The net short data per dealer is as follows:

Sumitomo Corporation - 71,345
Mitsubishi Corporation Futures Ltd - 5,997
Sojitz Corporation - 5,520
Marubeni Corporation - 4,884
Mitsubishi Corporation - 26,704
Goldman Sachs (Japan) Ltd. - 42,823
Mitsui & Co., Ltd. - 61,980

The total open interest in gold on Tocom is now 367,292, the net open interest is now 220,748, and these dealers are now net short 219,253 kilograms of gold or 7,049,137 Troy ounces of gold. Maybe these guys are also working for the "Bernanke Electric Mayhem Money Printing Press"? They don't seem to be in any way concerned about financial loss and also don't seem to have to respect any particular rules. I don't like to wish ill on anyone but I think these guys need to go down in financial flames.

I did a check on silver and found that there are really only really three net shorts in silver on TOCOM:

Sumitomo Corporation - 6,798
Marubeni Corporati - 3,238
Mitsubishi Corporation - 2,739

The total open interest in silver on TOCOM is 19,681 with a total net open
interest of 13,072.
These three dealers are net short 12,775 contracts in total. The silver contract on Tocom is equal to 60kg of silver so they are net short 766,500 kg of silver.
