A report suggests that Greece breached the rules of its EU/IMF loan agreement by taking on some 70,000 public sector staff.


A report by Greece’s outgoing finance minister George Zannias showed that civil servant numbers had not dropped despite cuts

Greek newspaper To Vima said that the hirings in 2010
and 2011 were highest in local administration, health, the police and
culture.

It cited a report from the Troika of international
creditors the European Union, International Monetary Fund and the
European Central Bank; and data given by outgoing finance minister
George Zannias.

An unidentified troika official said that while they
legislated rules to reduce the number of civil servants, they were
bringing people in through the window.

The official added that over 12,000 people were hired by
local councils even as a cost-cutting initiative merging municipalities
was underway.

Mr Zannias’ report to the new government coalition after
17 June elections allegedly reveals that although over 53,000 civil
servants retired in 2010.

It also said that the overall number of state staff was almost steady at 692,000 people.

configuration. According to the website, the U.S. is either renewing its

Enhanced Security Cooperation Act of 2012, which seeks to "reaffirm the
commitment to Israel's security as a Jewish state; provide Israel with
the military capabilities to defend itself by itself against any
threats... [and] expand military and civilian cooperation."

A senior Israeli official recently told Reuters that Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to attack Iran before the U.S.
elections in November." (Haretz, June 23, 2012, emphasis added)

Military experts have long agreed that the "sweet spot" for an Israeli attack on Iran will be this coming September or October precisely because of the timing of the US presidential election cycle.

For maximum political impact and minimal diplomatic
responsiveness, the time of the Democratic National Convention in
Charlotte, NC - September 3-6 comes within this window of opportunity as
well as the days immediately prior to the US election - say from
Halloween till the 6th of November.





It may be
instructive to recall that Israel's Operation Cast Lead was timed to
coincide with the transition between Obama and Bush and ended abruptly
immediately before the Inauguration in January 2009.





Presidential
election cycles have played major roles in the design of military
timetables. For only one example, recall the Tet Offensive in early 1968
that drove LBJ out of the race for the White House.

d’appeler le nouveau Premier ministre grec Antonis Samaras (celui qui a
mal à l’œil) pour le sommer de mettre en œuvre le plan de réformes
exigées par la fameuse « troïka » (UE, BCE et FMI).

Comme je l’ai souligné hier dans mon message « Grèce : la vengeance
de Nemesis ? », les représentants de cette « troïka » avaient en effet
dû annuler leur venue à Athènes pour cause d’hospitalisation du Premier
ministre et du ministre des finances Rapanos.

Lequel Rapanos a finalement « décidé » de démissionner de ses
fonctions (« on » l’a peut-être « décidé » pour lui d’ailleurs), ce qui
est un cas probablement sans précédent historique en Grèce puisqu’il
n’avait pas encore prêté serment. Voici donc un ministre éclair, qui a
démissionné entre sa nomination et sa prise de fonctions, pour cause de
malaise devant la tâche à accomplir. Quel symbole !

Quoi qu’il en soit le président américain s’est donc fendu d’un appel
téléphonique, hier, pour taper du poing sur la table : il a exigé que
le Premier ministre Samaras obéisse à la « troïka » afin que que la
Grèce « puisse se maintenir dans la zone euro ».

Obama a aussi affirmé que les États-Unis aideraient le pays dans ce
sens (c’est ce qu’a déclaré une source gouvernementale à Athènes).

Cette dernière phrase est beaucoup moins sympathique qu’elle n’en a
l’air. Car le sous-entendu diplomatique qu’elle contient, c’est sa
contraposée : les États-Unis feraient tout pour nuire à la Grèce si
Samaras ne se faisait pas le docile exécutant de la politique de racket
de la « troïka ».

Notons que Washington a en effet les moyens de nuire à Athènes,
notamment face à la Turquie et notamment aussi en termes
d’approvisionnement militaire.

CONCLUSION


Je me permets de faire une dédicace spéciale de cette dépêche à Mmes
Laurence Parisot et Myret Maki, comme à tous ceux qui veulent faire
croire aux Français ce bobard monumental qu’il faudrait sauver l’euro
car ce seraient les États-Unis qui tenteraient de le détruire.

C’est le contraire exact qui est vrai. La énième preuve vient de nous
en être encore apportée avec cet oukase de la Maison Blanche sur la
petite Grèce.
